John Wood

picture of john woodJohn is the Clinical Director of Sheffield Physiotherapy. He has over 20 years experience working as a physio and has trained to a high level in both manipulative therapy and acupuncture. He came to Sheffield after qualifying to work at the Northern General Hospital, after five years he went on to work at BMI Thornbury Hospital. Whilst at Thornbury part of his work was with premier league footballers working with players both at their club and within the hospital.  He started working privately in Sheffield in 1998 and in June 2006 moved his practice from Wilkinson Street to its new premises on Ecclesall Road, establishing Sheffield Physiotherapy. He has a keen interest in the treatment of chronic spinal problems as well as longstanding sports injuries. John is a recognised tutor for the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and has been involved in teaching acupuncture courses for physiotherapists throughout Britain. He has also been involved in teaching on postgraduate courses in manipulative therapy at Sheffield Hallam University.  Physiotherapy is an ever developing profession and John enjoys learning  about innovative concepts and treatments and is keen to incorporate new ways of helping people recover from injury into his practice.

Richard Caldwell-Hoe

picture of RichardRichard graduated with a BSc Honours degree in physiotherapy from Leads Metropolitan University in 2004. He had previously completed a degree in Health and Sports Studies at the University of Huddersfield in 2001. Over the last six years working as a physiotherapist he has developed a high degree of clinical experience within the orthopaedic and musculoskeletal areas both within the NHS and private settings. He has further training in the use of acupuncture for spinal and sports injuries and has studied courses with the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine. He has previously been involved in developing and working in physiotherapy clinics in the Crewe area but has now moved to live in Chesterfield with his wife.

Rujirek  Lindley (Nina)

picture of ninaNina was born in Thailand where she has trained in the art of Traditional Thai Massage and Thailand Reflexology. Like a lot of people in Thailand she had long interest in the therapy as massage there is considered part of the culture.  She decided to train at the famous Wat Po Traditional Medical School and in May 2004, she gained a certificate in Traditional Thai Massage. Always eager to broaden her knowledge and gain new skills, she went on to train in Thai Foot Massage for Health passing the course in October 2006.  Nina move to Sheffield in 2007, since arriving she has made friends with other people from Thailand who she now regularly gives body and foot massage.

Sally Sagar

Sally is qualified in sports and remedial massage therapy and is also a modern pilates instructor. She has worked with a varied client base, including high performance athletes, keen sports enthusiasts and clients suffering chronic pain. She has been involved working as part of the team at Sheffield Eagles attending match days to deliver pre and post match massage assessing and treating injuries as they arise. She offers both Remedial massage: Deep soft tissue manipulation techniques to relieve tightness and spasm to rebalance the body, & Sports massage: Deep massage techniques for muscles used during sporting activity, enhancing sporting performance and preventing injury.

Georgia Phelan

picture of georgiaGeorgia has worked in the fitness industry for 13 years after obtaining her Level 3 Personal Training Award in 1995. She has continued to update her qualifications in an ever-changing industry and is an Advanced Trainer member on the Register of Exercise Professionals. She is also a CYQ (Central YMCA Qualifications) trainer after obtaining her Cert Ed in 2004.

Whilst teaching for Central Colleges she obtained her ITEC (International Therapy Education Council) qualifications in Swedish Massage and Sports Massage and has been a practising therapist for 3 years. She is a member of The Complementary Therapists Association ensuring continuous professional development and splits her time equally as a Personal Trainer at Esporta Health Club and a Sports Massage Therapist.

Her experience in the fitness industry ensures that as well as treating the area with sports massage techniques, complementary exercises can be given that will speed recovery. Strengthening and lengthening the weakened muscles enables a return to full fitness earlier and prevents symptoms re-occurring.
